ABOUT DR LAURA LUM
Dr Laura Lum is an accredited Psychologist, nutritionist, GAPS Practitioner and the Director of Elanora Heights Medical Practice where she runs a Psychology Clinic and Digestive Health Clinic.
Laura's qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from UCL, University of London which she completed with First Class Honours. During her Doctoral Training, she specialised in Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Psychology; her clinical focus involved helping her clients using a number of different psychological therapies and treatments including Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (often referred to as CBT), Humanistic and longer term Psychodynamic therapies.
Laura went on to further specialise at the University of Reading in evidence-based psychological therapies including CBT, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Mindfulness Behavioural Therapy.
Laura later trained in Human Nutrition in London at KCC and in the gut-mind axis with Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride as a GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) Practitioner. Laura is the first psychologist to become a certified GAPS Practitioner.
Laura is actively involved in research focusing on improving psychological therapies, gut health and the microbiome and the mind-gut connection. She has also conducted research into Emotional Intelligence, Personality, Identity and Intercultural Psychology.
